This charcoal painting was my first experience working with charcoal on such a large canvas. It depicts the quiet bond between a mother rhinoceros and her calf, exploring the contrast between strength and tenderness.

I quickly fell in love with the process. The resilience of the canvas allowed me to freely add, remove, and rebuild layers of charcoal again and again. This freedom made the process intuitive and deeply enjoyable.
